Frequently asked questions

Question:
Why is the BikeTrainTour called “BikeTrainTour“?

Answer:
On many routes the next train station is no farther than 5 kilometres away. This distinguishes the BikeTrainTour Hellweg-Weser from other cycle tours.
If you are tired or bad weather is ahead you simply cycle to the next station and continue the journey by train. Spontaneous excursions are also possible: “There by bike and back by train” or vice versa.

Question:
Is there enough room for bikes on the trains?

Answer:
All trains have space for a limited number of bicycles. But if you plan to be on the road with 5 or more cyclists it is advisable to make reservations. This may be done by telephone. Contact the local transportation company here.

Question:
Are there enough possibilities for rest and accommodation on the way?

Answer:
Yes, of course. It is best to refer to the maps where emergency shelters, BBQ areas and inns are marked. Since inns have to pay a fee for being mentioned in the maps not all options might be mentioned.
