Weser-Lippe tour Characteristics

The BikeTrainTour Weser-Lippe starts at the old city centre of Bremen and follows old Hanseatic trails through the park and heath landscape of Diepholz. Further in the South are the mill-county of Minden-Lübbecke, with its windmills and the
Oppenwehe Moor. Through the town of Rahden the tour reaches the Ravensberg region in North-Rhine Westphalia and leads to the old linen weaver town of Bielefeld. Having left the picturesque Lippe region with its inviting towns such as Lemgo and Detmold the cyclist finally reaches the old cathedral city of Paderborn.

Start and Finish: Bremen - Paderborn

Length of tour: ca. 350 km

Grade:

Due to the flat country side the Northern part of the tour is easy to master. There are some sportive slopes in the Widukind region of Herford and in the Lippe area, but on the whole they are very short. A train shuttle service is on offer at the Sandbeck-Altenbeken leg. Thus the ascending slopes of the Eggegebirge (Egge mountains) in the county of Höxter and the Paderborn region may comfortably be detoured.
